I was in town running errands and when I pulled into our driveway I noticed Medic was running along the fence line in the pasture. He was all twitterpated about something. As I drove down to the garage door I noticed Mav and Medic not where they should be. Here is where they should be:
Here is where they ended up:
In case you are wondering. This is our driveway. Our house is to the right of this photo: Here:
So as you can see the horses were to the left of the corner of this photo. Is this making any sense??? I am really tired and probably should not be doing this post late at night, but you never know what I may type, so I am cheap entertainment. Anyway, back to the horses.
I managed to get Mav and Medic back into the pen. Then I proceeded to walk the fenceline down into our other pastures to try and see where they got out. Our horses respect the fence fairly well but if there is a gap and they don't get zapped they will go through it. As I continued to walk I came across this:
That my friends, is an open gate!!!!! On the ranch when you go through a gate you close it behind you. Just an unspoken rule. Not sure why this was open but that is the call of "FREEDOM" to a horse. They start snorting and kicking and being all silly when they get out into a different pasture. Silly horses.
Mav wasn't too impressed with me for shutting his escape route:
I think he is giving me the stink eye
He almost looks apologetic here doesn't he???
Needless to say, horses have been put back in their pasture, gate has been secured and all is well on the Cedar J. At least until the next escape attempt!!
