We added two sweet little girls to our goat herd. We haven't named them yet but I really want to name one Penelope. They are the sweetest girls! They love scratches and will follow you anywhere! The boys weren't too sure of them at first and were a little rough on the girls with slamming into them. I did a little research and out came the spray bottle of water. A couple of squirts of water and that took care of the unwanted behavior. Except one of the boys is very leary of me now!!!! LOL!
We have a couple of chickens who get picked on, literally, in our coop. One was really bad and needed a covering on her back to help it heal. I bought these little "coats" that are supposed to protect the feathers. The coats came in an array of colors, there were several in the package, but I picked the "Safety Chicken" coat for this particular chicken.
She looks like she could be a crossing guard at a school intersection!!! The other chickens ran from her when we first put it on. She kept getting her foot stuck so it had to come off, but she wore it about a week and I think it actually helped! Everyone needs a safety chicken right??
I have been working with our two boy goats ( wethers) on some halter training. They are not impressed.
We did finally name the goats! Crash and Eddy. Which has seemed to be the most appropriate names for these two. As can be seen in the next photo.
Yes, that is Crash ( center) and Eddy ( left) climbing on our gator!!! They were quickly reprimanded before further damage could occur, but I had to snap a photo. These two are crazy! They are fun, but a little nuts for sure.
Hope you have a great week and enjoy the fall weather!
