We recently added to our equipment here on the ranch. We needed another 4-wheeler and when you buy a 4-wheeler you need a trailer to bring it home. So we bought a new trailer too.
We sold our old flatbed trailer to MacGyver's sister and brother in law. We have been looking a long time for a new flat bed trailer to haul hay. We seem to be prone to vehicles breaking down on the freeway and a new flatbed would help in hauling a vehicle home as well. MacGyver found one on craigslist so we made the 7hr round trip drive to look at one and it is awesome! The price was great too!
In other news, I have wanted a straw cowboy (girl) hat forever! I finally ordered three hats from #outbacktrading and tried them out. One of the hats I really didn't like so I returned it. I had a hard time deciding between the other two, so I kept them both. LOL!
I tested out my new hat today and actually rode my horse! I haven't been on a horse in well over a year and a half due to my Total Knee Replacement last year. I have been doing ground work with my mare, Moxie, and today decided to get in the saddle! It was a short ride but it was great! My new knee wasn't too keen on bending enough to get my foot in the stirrup from the ground but I used the side rail in the round pen and made it work.
I got her posing the other day though when we went for a walk around the ranch.
Moxie is such a patient horse. She can be "mare-ish" at times, but she only tests things a little and then realizes she doesn't have it so bad. She has been great for me as I continue to gain my confidence back up. She is 24yrs old and is a gem. She does have quite the side eye though when she doesn't want to do something. It cracks me up and I laugh every time.
Finally, I broke some windows. I was mowing last week and some rocks got in the blades and flung towards the house and shattered our door with a full window. A rock also broke a window in the garage. It was crazy! All the more reason to go for a zero scape so I don't have to mow the front yard weeds!!!!
It is a double pane window, thankfully, just the outside pane is shattered. MacGyver is always so excited when I break things! LOL!
Stay cool out there. It is getting pretty warm here in Montana. Too warm. We could really use some rain too. Stay safe and remember, go rub a horse if you get the chance. You will feel better!!!
