The weather has been a little nuts here at the Cedar J. We had some pretty cold temps in February:
Then it snowed. Then it snowed. Then it snowed.
It would not stop snowing!!! We had several feet at the ranch and we ran out of places to put it. MacGyver had to move piles and put it in a pasture due to not having enough room anymore.
Even the cats were staying put in the garage.
The ducks and Goose Goose weren't to sure about venturing out of their cozy hut.
I wasn't sure Pip was going to make it through the snow in the backyard to do her business!
Then something amazing and wonderful happened. The SUN finally appeared!
The sun makes everything better.
We thought it would take a bit for this snow to melt. Mother Nature had other ideas with temps in the high 40's and even hitting 50 in the last two weeks. Now we can see the grass again.
If you are wondering why there is a huge rubbermaid wheelbarrow in the back yard, I will tell you why. When you have that much snow and it all melts, and you have 4 dogs...... Guess what is left behind!!!!!!!! Yup! Dog poo! And a lot of it. I brought out the big guns to get it picked up.
It was gorgeous yesterday so MacGyver and I were outside doing some stuff around the ranch. MacGyver took some hay to the horses and we had to put one bale in an enclosure for our older horses. It didn't quite line up the way we wanted so we rednecked our way and used some straps and the tractor and got the job done.
The straps held and no animals or humans were injured in our redneck setup to move a 1300 lb bale!
Our geriatric horse was happy
Jazzy is 29 this year! The old man has a little limp but he gets around great. He gets some meds in a cookie every morning and still enjoying the retired life. I sure love this horse. He is my total bud.
Well that about sums up February on the ranch. We are looking forward to Spring for sure! I can't wait for things to green up. We have bees coming the end of April and the green grass will be popping up before we know it. It will be fence fixing, grass mowing and weed pulling weather. And hopfully..... a lot of SUN!!
