Ducks old/new digs, officially spring and Cancelled trips

Spring and cancelled trips

2 minutes

A few signs that spring has finally made its debut on the Cedar J.

  1. The Ducks have been moved to their spring/summer accommodations on the pond and they are loving life!
  1. The irrigation water has been turned on and our waterfall in our back yard is flowing strong and steady.
  1. This next point isn't really about spring arriving but it is the explanation of the last part of the title to this Post!!

MacGyver and I were supposed to be in France right now eating croissants and fine tuning our french language. Ok, MacGyver would be fine tuning and I would be literally surviving!!! Alas, our trip was thwarted.

On our flight to Salt Lake from Montana

I should have know things weren't going to end well when I had to check my carry on because apparently I had too many liquids in my bag!!! Is that possible? Can a girl have too many liquids?? I think not! For the record they were all under the 3 oz limit, but not all in a quart size bag. Picky, Picky Picky.

On our flight to France

We were just getting settled onto the airplane for a 9 + hour flight to Paris when the pilot came on the intercom to let us know that just as they were about to push back from the the gate a circuit breaker and had blown. I guess flying with a broken circuit breaker isn't the best way to start a long distance flight. We sat for about 20 minutes when the pilot came back on to inform everyone that we would need to disembark from the plane as the repair was going to take longer than expected. Fun! Fun!

5 hours later the flight to Paris finally left the gate without MacGyver and myself on board. Due to the delay we would have missed our train in Paris to take us to southern France. On top of that MacGyver had a figurative fire blow up at work and leaving would not have been the best idea. I was left with a very sad " frenchman". ( MacGyver loves France! It is his happy place )

Eating pizza in the airport waiting to fly back to Montana

We had a  layover in Salt Lake until we could fly back home to Montana. All in all it worked out. Our son had our truck break down on him 4 hours away from home, and then we woke up to our neighbors cows (about the entire herd) in our backyard the next morning. Our boys were holding down the fort while were to be gone and they were glad we were home to help with all the chaos. We will make it to France again soon.

I now have more time to work on my French!!!

No post is complete without a horse photo. This is Jazzy. Our 29 yr old gelding. Just chilling in the early morning. He helped things feel right again in the world after a couple of hectic days. God Bless Horses. I am so grateful for them.
