The Ranch

April adventures and whoever ticked of Mother Nature please apologize!

April Adventures

4 minutes

April has been full of surprises around the ranch. Especially weather related surprises. Here are a few highlights to catch y'all up on the happenings around here.

We moved the ducks to their beloved pond. They were quite happy to be back on the water. The pond will fill up once the irrigation water starts flowing. There is enough to make our quackers and Goose Goose happy until then.

Moving the quackers and Goose Goose's abode
This is MacGyver at his finest!

Most of the snow had melted except for a few spots here and there. The dogs love crunching on this snow. It made me think of a snow cone. The dogs just run up, and start scraping their teeth on the snow. Thankfully it isn't "yellow" snow.  That would just be gross.....

MacGyver and I went to Vegas for the WCC championship tournament. Our team won the championship! They did not do so great in March Madness but we are not going to talk about that so much.

The score was much higher!!! This was at halftime!!!! ( for the record GU is our team)

We also made a trip to see child #1 and her husband in Texas. We went to a butterfly sanctuary. It was amazing! Also I just got some neat pictures. I was actually shocked how well they turned out!

These guys have the right idea. Soak up that sun!!!!
This photo turned out so well!!

We get home from our excursions and Mother Nature I guess was jealous we were enjoying the sunshine and the warmth. She decided to play a nasty April Fool's joke on us. Only it wasn't April Fools, it actually happened!!!

4- 6 inches of the white stuff. Do you wanna build a snowman???? ( go ahead sing it, I know you want to)

The snow was so wet and heavy it coated our coops and made the netting over our coop yards sag tremendously.

So much snow that it snapped one of our support beams in the yard of the coop.

My feet are in this photo somewhere......

Thankfully the snow didn't last too long. It has been crazy spring weather. The horses aren't sure if they should be putting on a winter coat or shedding. This is Moxie after me brushing her for about 15 minutes.

I still need to brush her out more!!!!
There is enough hair for a whole other horse!

Lastly, MacGyver built a new feeding system for the goats. That man is a genius. We just move the cattle panel when they eat down the round bale. Helps with the mess that these little critters make.

Well, that is about it for now. More adventures to come I am sure. Keep the rubber side down on your boots and enjoy the sun! Things are greening up on the ranch. Make it a great day!
