Winter has hit the Cedar J

Winter hits the Cedar J

1 minute

We weren't sure it would happen. We figured at some point it would. Today it did. It is winter on the Cedar J. Here is what the temperature was before heading out to blanket the horses:

-5 was the actual temperature. THE FEELS LIKE was -25. The wind was blowing at 14mph with gusts up to 19mph.

We needed to get the horses blanketed and wanted to do it before we lost daylight. MacGyver helped me as he has been home today.

I am standing in the doorway of the barn. It was nasty out there!

It is full on coverall weather. I am layered up and have hand and foot warmers.

Wish I could capture the wind. It is wicked! ( that is for all our Maine friends)

Macgyver and I got the horses blanketed, the birds all tucked in and headed back to the house. Here is how much the temperature changed while we were outside.

-8 degrees. Which has a FEEL LIKE -32 degrees. The wind top speed was 24mph and was currently blowing at 17mph. We are having crazy gusts!

Stay warm my friends. Don't go anywhere unless you have to. If you do go out make sure you have boots, gloves, hats, you know the drill. If you live in Hawaii or Arizona, wear those flip flops for me!!!!
