Hug a Horse

Knead some Bread

2 minutes

This morning as I was out doing chores I went out to be with the horses and make sure our 28 yr old paint, Jazzy, got his meds. The old guy needs medicine to help with arthritis. Jazzy gets his medicine in a half of a fig newton every morning.

Mav came up and wanted a few scratches. He also put his head across my shoulder in a horse hug. I am not that technically savvy and couldn't get a good photo but here are a few.

Jazzy came in for some love as well
Medic didn't want to be left out so I guess this could be a horse sandwich with me in the middle!

As I walked out of the pasture I thought to myself that horse hugs are pretty special. I really do love these 1000 lb animals.

Then I came inside and made Kamut bread for MacGyver. He really likes this bread I make with Kamut flour. It is pretty tasty. I love making bread. There is something about kneading bread and getting it soft and the dough just right. You let it set for a bit and let the yeast and water do their thing.

After  kneading it the first time.
After 35 minutes of rising. Oh man! This is getting good.
A little more rising and they are ready for the oven!
Final product. MacGyver will be happy he has his bread for toast in the morning.

I guess the point to this post, go hug a horse and go knead some bread.  You are guaranteed to feel better. If you don't like horses, well I can't help you there. If you don't like to bake, I can't help you there either!! LOL! Give it a try. You may be surprised!
